South Africa offers some of the most exciting and varied trekking and hiking opportunities in the World from easy day hikes on famous Table Mountain to treks in our high and remote mountain ranges or along our rugged coast line.

Venture Forth offer various guided hikes and treks throughout South Africa with our expert guides and years of experience, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. You can choose from our set itineraries or request a custom made trek as private guiding.

Our treks are mostly self-supported, meaning that you have to carry your own backpack with all your requirements and cook for yourself. However, porters or pack animals (where available) and fully catered options can be requested.

Trekking can be combined with various other adventure options and activities such as visits to game parks, quad-biking, mountain biking, rock climbing, sight seeing, bungy-jumping, parachuting, kayaking etc.

No visit to Cape Town is complete without taking a hike on Table Mountain whether it is an easy stroll along the Table Top, a summit hike or a full traverse. Cederberg (Western Cape)

Cederberg Hiker

The Cederberg Wilderness Area is situated approximately 250km from Cape Town along the West Coast. Famous for its exquisite natural scenery and ancient rock formations the Cederberg is a trekking and climbing paradise with the highest peaks reaching beyond 2000m in altitude. We offer both classic trekking and lodge-based trekking options in the Cederberg ranging from 2 to 5 nights.

Swartberg Mountains (Southern Cape)

Situated approximately 400km from Cape Town the Swartberg Mountains are a true hidden paradise. Massive peaks and almost untouched, un-explored mountain territory awaits the trekker looking for solitude, peace and high mountain peaks. Often snow covered in winter, the peaks of the Swartberg reach well over 2400m in altitude. We offer classic trekking options and peak ascents in the Swartberg Mountains.

Drakensberg Mountains (Kwazulu-Natal)

South Africa’s highest and biggest mountain range stretches over 3 provinces and its mammoth peaks reach well over 3000m in altitude with Mafadi Peak (3450m) being the highest point in South Africa and Thabana Ntlenyana (3482m) the highest point south of Kilimanjaro.
